I am going to add some soil moisture granules this year which should reduce the frequency of watering and keep from flushing the nutrients out of the soil.

Big Boy tomatoes. and they are doing fine. I tried growing some tomatoes pots right next to the one in my garden. The tomatoes in pots seem to take alot more water and do not seem to grow as good.
I also planted a variety of acid free yellow tomatoes. This variety seems to fair better in the pots as the tomatoes are not as big and they seem like they take less water. These yellow tomatoes have a pretty good taste.

Redwood barrel planters are great for creating your tomato container garden. Make sure planter is about as big as a 5 gallon bucket with approximate size 12" diameter and 14 deep.
I am trying some Swiss Chard in plastic planters this year. Swiss Chard is a fairly hard plant and taste great.
